Burial:
Place: Cremated
Individual note:
I have so many things to say about Uncle Harold, but I will try to limit
them to the last few years for now.
The last time that the 3 siblings were together was for Uncle Harold's
80th birthday October of 1991. Kathy threw a surprise party for him in
Knights Ferry. Several of the Stierlin kids came up. This was a very
special day seeing Mom with her brother and sister.
Sept 7, 1996 - Uncle Harold escorted me along with my brother, Bub, down
the isle to marry Dave. It was so very, very special to me. I have a
photo from that day as Uncle Harold was leaving, he grabbed me and
started singing - "I adore you, Gia Mina" (or something close to that
name). This was to be Uncle Harold's last drive down to Modesto from
Washington. He took the train down once after that and said he would
never do that again. So his next few visits he flew. By this time he was
pretty confused at times.
Cremated - ashes scattered various places at the Holloway Ranch, now
known as BK Ranch in Oakdale California and at the cemetery with Aunt
Connie and Mom in Knights Ferry.
Memorial Service at Washington
Memorial Service with family and friends up on the hill at BK Ranch on
May 6, 2000, it was freezing cold and raining that day. We took video,
but you can't hear the minister very well due to the wind blowing.
Another memorial service scheduled for July 2000 with Aunt Olive and her
kids.
July 18, 2000 - We had a memorial with Aunt Olive & Ed, Gwen & Evan, Mary
Carolyn & Randy, Theresa & Hector, Melody & Mark, along with some of
their kids and grand kids.
