Per Royal Donovan
Jasper passed away in 1963
Per Jan Stephens:
The correct town is Dell (not Dellwood) in Vernon County. My Dad said it is
a little unincorporated village north of La Farge, WI and SE of Cashton. My
Dad wasn't sure exactly where he died. I'm not sure if he was in a hospital
or if he died at home. I know he was living very near Dell at the time

Wendy, Dell is a very, very small intersection about 10 crow miles East
of Westby, at the intersection of CTH P and Dell Church Road, as shown
on the Dell, Quad Sheet. There is an unnamed church shown on the North
side of Dell Church Road and an unnamed 2 acre cemetery on the South
side. The cemetery is in Section 35, Township 14 North, Range 3 West of
the 4th Principal Meridian, Clinton Township, Vernon County, WI. The
church is in Sec 26. The cemetery rises from Northeast to Southwest
about 50 feet.

Wendy, his stone says 1961 not 1963. Yes, I was correct. That is where
the Methodist Church and Dell Cemetery are. Wife Flossie J.??

Individual note:
As told to me by Olive Holloway July 18, 2000
Uncle Louie died while at a convention in Sacramento.
Aunt Olive said she wasn't going to go with him but decided at the last minute to go. They drove up. She said that while he was driving he was driving a bit erratic and while changing lanes he would get to close to the cars, etc. She even discussed it with him. He let her drive the rest of the way there. They got there and all settled into the motel for the evening. The next morning she heard what sounded like someone fumbling with the door nob and sounded like someone trying to break in. She called out to Uncle Louie and he wasn't in the room. She decided to see who was at the door and to her surprise it was Uncle Louie standing there and holding the side of his face saying he had a toothache. She said the side of his face was all droopy. She got him all settled on the bed and tried finding some of his friends, but they were still out on the golf course. She asked if the motel had a nurse or Dr and they said no, but the lady helping her gave her the name of her personal Dr. She got ahold of the Dr and they told her to bring him in. Aunt Olive was waiting for someone to come in off the golf course to help her take Uncle Louie to the Dr. During this time Uncle Louie fell out of bed. Aunt Olive couldn't get him back into bed so she just covered him up and tried to make him comfortable. Finally, she got him to the Dr and the Dr told her that if Uncle Louie was his patient he would admit him to the hospital. Uncle Louie made her promise that she wouldn't put him into the hospital there. No one told her that it was a stroke or anything serious. She went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription that the Dr gave her and she said Uncle Louie was fumbling with the door nob, but she still didn't think it was anything or that he was as sick as he really was. She had never seen anyone who had a stroke or seriously ill. They got back to the motel and Aunt Olive said she knew that she could make a bed for him in the back of the station wagon to get him home. They again settled in for the night. I am not sure if Aunt Olive woke up in the middle of the night or if it was the next morning. But when she checked him he was in a coma. She got him into the hospital and called Gwen, Nana Retta and Popo (his parents). He never woke from the coma, but waited for the family to get there before he passed away. He died that day.
