Nye, Mrs. Marie A.
Kalamazoo, MI
Died early Monday morning, April 13, 1998 in Kalamazoo. Marie was born
December 6, 1905 the daughter of Abraham and Sadie (Van Haaften) Nason in
Kalamazoo, and had been a lifelong area resident. In 1927 she was united
in marriage to Mr. Almonte Everett Nye, jr., who preceded her in death in
1964. She was also preceded in death by her son, Wayne Nye in 1995; and
her brother, Raymond Nason. Marie is survived by 3 sons and their
spouses, Almonte and Jean Nye, Eugene and Norma Nye, Terry Lee and Irene
Nye, all of Kalamazoo; a daughter-in-law, Rose Nye of Kalamazoo; 9
grandchildren; 13 great - grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and
several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services for Mrs. Nye
will be 11:00 o'clock Wednesday morning at Riverside Cemetery in
Kalamazoo, with Pastor Joseph Pratt, of The Branches in Lacota, MI,
officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be directed to Animals Best Friend, Borgess Nursing Home, Kalamazoo
Gospel Mission or Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo, Arrangements made by
Landeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel - 622 S. Burdick St.

Passed away early Monday morning. Mr. Nason was born Dec. 15, 1912, in
Kalamazoo, the son of Abraham and Sadie Van Haaften Nason and was a life
resident here. He was an employee of the Upjohn Co. Mr. Nason was a World
War II Veteran, 11th Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Surviving are his
wife, Coral J. one son, Randy Lee; one sister, Mrs. Marie Nye, all of
Kalamazoo; 5 nephews and 2 nieces. Religious services will be conducted
by Rev. Grant E. Schrauger, of the Lake Center Bible Church, Wednesday
2:30 p.m., at Truesdale South Chapel S. Westnedge at Milham. Interment,
South Portage Cemetery.
